Everyone loves money, but this may not be the best time to start
dropping numbers. The company already knows what they are willing to pay for
the position’s compensation, so your best approach is to sound reasonable.
Each career has its own inherent salary range and your best bet here is to
explain how your skills and experience match the position very well and that
you are aware of the compensation associated with this type of position. Keep
the following in mind:
- Showing that you are reasonable indicates that you are
fair.
- The actual salary negotiations will take place after the
interview.
- Rather than calling out a salary, general expectations are
preferred.
- End your answer with a question to get an idea as to where they
stand.
