Once you have made it through the searches and phone conversations,
you should prepare for your interview. The example video above may seem as if
the “Don’ts” are emphasized, but worse interviews take place every day. If
you do have difficulty in confrontations or with public speaking in general;
remember, the person interviewing you is not better than you... They’ve only
been there longer. He or she could be laid-off tomorrow and searching for a
job like everyone else on Monday. Keep the following points in mind during an
interview:
- Don’t giggle/ laugh for no reason.
- Don’t make bold statements with nothing to support
them.
- Don’t admit to being unprepared/ Avoid excuses.
- Don’t use “um” or other fillers such as “sorry.”
